Rafet El Roman to Marry for the Third Time
Singer Rafet El Roman announced that he has become engaged and is preparing to sit at the wedding table once again. According to reports by Cetin Kan (Çetin Kan), Rafet El Roman was seen chatting with a friend at a venue in Nisantasi (Nişantaşı). Speaking to members of the press upon leaving, the singer addressed both his private life and ongoing debates in the art world.
"I Belong to Someone Else"
When asked about the lady accompanying him, Rafet El Roman replied: "Aleyna Ilhan (Aleyna İlhan) has been on stage with me many times. She is a singer and also a music teacher." When reporters commented that they thought she was his girlfriend, the famous singer showed the ring on his finger and announced he had taken the first step toward marriage.
"I belong to someone else."
Stating that he became engaged three months ago, El Roman said: "You wouldn't know her. She is a friend of Aleyna. You will see her around here one day and can ask her yourself. She is a foreigner. Actually, not entirely a foreigner; she is from our brother country, Azerbaijan."

Noting that the official wedding has not yet taken place, Rafet El Roman said: "You will hear about it soon. In my opinion, marriage is the most beautiful institution people establish between themselves and the most respectable evidence of togetherness. I have never been against marriage, nor have I condemned those who marry. This is a person's own choice."

The singer added that the wedding date has not yet been finalized, mentioning that not everyone is obligated to get married.

Responding to a reminder of Deniz Cakir's (Deniz Çakır) statement that "female actors have a shelf life," Rafet El Roman argued that this also applies to the music industry. He stated: "This is not just in acting, but also in singing. Look, many new names have made a splash recently; their songs explode and then they quiet down. You can count many names regarding this. When everyone in the country wants to be an actor or a singer, the lifespan of this popularity becomes short."

El Roman also touched upon the "real artist" polemic recently ignited between Burcu Gunes (Burcu Güneş) and Demet Akalin (Demet Akalın). He said: "Years ago, I had a very beautiful duet called 'Son Mektup' with Burcu Gunes. It is very unnecessary to still be discussing this polemic in this century. We cannot decide who is an artist and who is not. There is no jury for this. Everyone determines this in their own mind according to their own definition and taste."
Having been married twice before, Rafet El Roman is preparing for his third marriage with this decision. The singer's first marriage was to Tugba Altintop (Tuğba Altıntop) between 1996 and 2003, and his second was to Ceren Kaplakarslan between 2014 and 2016. A father of three, El Roman has two daughters, Su (born 1998) and Sevval (Şevval) (born 2000), from his marriage to Tugba Altintop, and a son, Edvan (born 2010), from Yesim Eryildirim (Yeşim Eryıldırım).
