Temperature Drop and the Return of Snow
Starting from next Tuesday, temperatures across the country will drop below the seasonal average.
Abdullah Macit, a weather forecasting expert at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of Turkey, provided information about the weather conditions for the upcoming week.
He stated that, based on the latest evaluations, no precipitation is expected across the country in the coming days, including the weekend.
Temperature Rise Over the Weekend
Macit explained that over the weekend, temperatures across the country will be 10 to 15 degrees above the seasonal average. Additionally, frost and ice formation are expected in the eastern regions of Turkey tomorrow morning.
He warned that the risk of avalanches remains in the interior parts of the Eastern Black Sea region and Eastern Anatolia. However, in other parts of the country, the weather will be partly cloudy and sunny.
Significant Temperature Drop from Tuesday
Macit added: "Currently, temperatures are above the seasonal average, and this trend will continue until Tuesday. However, starting from Tuesday, a significant drop in temperatures will begin from the northwest of the country. On Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will fall below the seasonal average across the country, but until Monday, temperatures will still be 10 to 15 degrees above the seasonal average."
Rain Expected in Three Major Cities of Turkey
Regarding the weather conditions in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, Macit said: "In Ankara, the temperature will reach 29 degrees on Sunday, but starting from Sunday evening, there is a possibility of light rain in the western parts of the city."
Macit also stated that no precipitation is expected in Istanbul until the end of the week, and temperatures will remain in the range of 24 to 25 degrees.
Similarly, in Izmir, no rainfall is expected, and temperatures will remain around 26 to 27 degrees. However, starting from next Tuesday, there is a possibility of rain in all three major cities of Turkey.
"Starting from Tuesday, a significant drop in temperature and rainfall will begin in the three major cities of Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir."
