The spring weather currently prevailing across Turkey will give way to cold and rainy weather in the new week. The temperature, which has been above seasonal norms in recent days, will drop by 10 to 15 degrees in many regions, and rain and snow are expected.
According to forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology of Turkey, Turkey will experience a variable climate encompassing all four seasons within a short period next week. With the end of spring weather, a wave of cold and precipitation will sweep across the country.
Noticeable temperature drop across the country
Rainfall will begin at the start of the week in the Marmara and Black Sea regions and will gradually spread to other parts of the country. It is expected that the cold and rainy weather will also affect major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

Forecasts indicate that the minimum temperature will drop significantly in the one-week period following Tuesday. It is expected that temperatures will drop to -4 in Ankara, 2 in Istanbul, 3 in Izmir, -3 in Konya, 6 in Antalya, -4 in Bolu, 3 in Samsun, 3 in Trabzon, -4 in Erzurum, and 3 degrees Celsius in Diyarbakir.
Cold and rainy weather to continue until March 24
According to reports, the wave of cold and rainy weather will continue at least until Monday, March 24 in various regions of Turkey.
Types of precipitation in western and eastern Turkey
Precipitation is expected to appear mainly as rain and showers in the western regions of the country, while from Wednesday, precipitation in the central and eastern regions of Turkey will take the form of rain mixed with snow and snow.
