Okan Buruk: The players are very happy in Kemerburgaz

Okan Buruk, the head coach of Galatasaray football team, stated: "The transfer from Florya to Kemerburgaz happened very quickly. The players wanted this move to happen as soon as possible. They said they are very happy here and are fully satisfied with the facilities, the fields, and the gym."

Galatasaray Sports Club introduced the Metin Oktay Complex in Kemerburgaz to the media yesterday.

Okan Buruk also confirmed the speed of this transfer, saying that they did not even get the chance to say goodbye to Florya.

"The transfer from Florya to Kemerburgaz happened very quickly, and we couldn’t have an emotional farewell to Florya. We wanted to come to this complex as soon as possible. Even when everything wasn’t fully ready, we came here for a training test, and the players requested to move here sooner."

Buruk continued: "The players have said they are very happy here and satisfied with the conditions of the fields and sports facilities. For me too, training on these fields is very important. We are really lucky to have such infrastructure."

Buruk referred to past issues and said: "When a new player joined the team, we always felt embarrassed in Florya. For example, when Morata joined the team and we took him to the Florya field, I would say to myself, ‘We brought in such a player but are training him on such a field.’"

He added: "Of course, we improved the Florya fields by investing, but we didn’t achieve the desired result. However, the atmosphere here is completely different, and the players are really happy. We came here without saying goodbye to Florya, and of course, we miss the atmosphere and warmth of Florya, but we are gradually getting used to this place."

Okan Buruk added warmly: "We also brought the spirit of Florya here, so we can call this place ‘Little Florya.’"
