The number of detainees in the investigation of the armed attack that killed footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakci in Umraniye (Ümraniye) has increased to 10. Singer Izzet Yildizhan and businessman Bilal Kadayifcioglu were taken into custody by police teams. The incident occurred on the night of March 19 on Siddik (Sıddık) Street in Umraniye. According to allegations, Vahap Canbay from the rap group Canbay & Wolker wanted to reconcile with singer Aleyna Kalaycioglu (Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu), from whom he had recently separated. Canbay requested help from his friend, 21-year-old Kubilay Kundakci.
Kubilay Kundakci went to the front of the studio where Aleyna Kalaycioglu was located, accompanied by Vahap Canbay and their friends. While the group waited in their vehicle, suspects arriving in luxury vehicles with strobe lights allegedly carried out an attack. One of the suspects, identified as A.K., opened fire on the group inside the vehicle. The 21-year-old footballer Kubilay Kundakci was critically wounded by the bullets. Despite all medical interventions at the hospital, the young man could not be saved and passed away.
Eight suspects apprehended and murder weapon seized
Following the incident, police teams launched an operation to capture the fleeing suspects and detained A.K. (28), M.R. (52), H.C.A. (25), M.K. (59), E.T. (63), A.Ö. (46), A.T. (28), and Z.K. (50). The murder weapon was also seized during the operation. Investigations established that while Kaan Kundakci and two other individuals were sitting in a parked car, two different vehicles arrived at the scene.
One of the suspects who exited these vehicles fired at the car where Kundakci was located and then fled.

It was learned that the famous singer, who is the godfather of Bilal Kadayifcioglu's son, was detained on the charge of 'favouring a criminal.'
