Temperature Drops Below 10 Degrees in 59 Provinces
With the influx of a cold and rainy weather system from the Balkans, temperatures in 59 provinces across the country dropped to below 10 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Organization, the lowest recorded temperature was minus 3.1 degrees Celsius in the city of Yozgat.
Temperatures Below Seasonal Averages
Based on data published on the official website of the Meteorological Organization, today's temperatures across the country were recorded between 8 to 15 degrees below the usual seasonal average.

Snowfall, which began last night in many cities including Ankara and İstanbul, has intensified in some areas and continues to fall.
Provinces Experiencing Significant Temperature Drop
In the provinces of Afyonkarahisar, Ağrı, Aksaray, Amasya, Ankara, Ardahan, Artvin, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bartın, Bayburt, Bilecik, Bitlis, Bolu, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Çankırı, Çorum, Denizli, Düzce, Edirne, Erzincan, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hakkari, Isparta, İstanbul, İzmir, Karabük, Karaman, Kars, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kırklareli, Kırşehir, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Muş, Nevşehir, Niğde, Ordu, Rize, Sakarya, Sinop, Sivas, Tekirdağ, Tokat, Trabzon, Uşak, Yalova, Yozgat, and Zonguldak, the temperature has dropped to below 10 degrees Celsius.
Coldest Spot in the Country
Among these 59 provinces, the minimum temperatures ranged between minus 3.1 and minus 9.8 degrees Celsius, with Yozgat being reported as the coldest city at minus 3.1 degrees.
Temperature Status in Three Major Cities
In Ankara, the temperature was recorded at 0.4 degrees, in İstanbul at 6.3 degrees, and in İzmir at 9.5 degrees Celsius.
End of the Cold Wave in the Coming Days
According to forecasts, this cold and rainy weather system will continue until March 23 and will gradually subside afterward.
“The Meteorological Organization has announced that from March 23 onward, weather conditions will return to normal and warmer weather is expected.”
