Heavy rain and hail in Ankara; daily life disrupted
Heavy rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and hail in the capital of Turkey, Ankara, caused disruption to the normal flow of daily life. This weather phenomenon intensified this evening in various parts of the city and had significant consequences.
Traffic issues due to flooded streets
As the intensity of the rain increased in the late hours of the day, many streets in Ankara were flooded. This situation made it difficult for drivers to move around, and traffic in some parts of the city slowed down.
Çankaya's highlands turned white due to hail
In the elevated areas of Çankaya, the hail was so intense that the ground turned completely white. Some drivers covered their vehicles with temporary covers to protect them from damage.
In some streets, due to the heavy rainfall, vehicle movement became nearly impossible, and emergency teams intervened.
Urgent municipal actions to manage the crisis
Technical teams affiliated with the Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ) immediately went to the areas affected by flooding. They worked on opening sewer inlets and cleaning water channels to restore the normal flow of water.
Despite the measures taken, it is predicted that if the rain continues, more problems may arise for the residents of the city.
