Snow surprise in Antalya in April
While Antalya is usually known for its warm and spring weather in April, an unexpected snowfall this month surprised both residents and travelers. On the Akseki - Seydişehir road, which connects Antalya to Konya, snowfall was observed along approximately 5 kilometers of the route.
Snowfall in the heights of Antalya
In the Alacabel region, located at an altitude of 1825 meters above sea level, snowfall began with a noticeable drop in temperature. This area, which is part of the main road between Antalya and Konya, was briefly covered in snow.
Quick roadwork response
The snowfall on the Akseki - Seydişehir road was immediately met with a response from road maintenance teams. They began snow removal and salting operations using heavy machinery to prevent disruptions in traffic.
Following the start of the snowfall, regional teams from Akseki took necessary safety measures at the 1825-meter-high Alacabel.
Snow thickness
Although the snowfall did not last long, it managed to increase the snow thickness up to 3 centimeters. This rare phenomenon in April once again showed that the mountainous weather of Antalya can be surprising.
