A dispute ended in murder; actress Sevil Akdağ killed her friend

Sevil Akdağ, a Turkish actress who has appeared in series such as “Yasak Elma” and “Arka Sokaklar”, killed her friend Elif Kırav by stabbing her after a dispute.

A dispute that turned into a crime

This incident took place in the İskenderpaşa neighborhood in the Fatih district of Istanbul. According to reports, on the night of the incident, Sevil Akdağ and Elif Kırav went to Kırav’s house after spending some time together. There, for unknown reasons, a dispute arose between them. During the fight, Sevil Akdağ attacked Elif Kırav with a knife. She then attempted to cut her own wrists but fled the scene.

The body discovered by neighbors

After Elif's mother failed to contact her daughter, she asked the neighbors to check the apartment. One of the neighbors saw the door was open and upon entering the house found Elif Kırav’s body lying in a pool of blood. Police and emergency services were immediately notified.

Multiple stab wounds and signs of violent struggle

Police investigations showed that the victim’s body bore multiple stab wounds and the crime scene indicated signs of resistance and intense physical struggle. The suspect’s identity was quickly determined.

Eyewitness testimony

“Early in the morning, I heard screams from inside the house. Then I heard footsteps on the stairs. I looked through the peephole and saw a woman dressed in black leaving the building in a hurry. Later in the afternoon, Elif’s mother called me and said she couldn't reach her daughter. I went to the house, saw the door was open, entered, and saw her lying on the ground covered in blood.”

Suspect arrested in Esenyurt

After reviewing security camera footage, the police discovered that Sevil Akdağ had gone to the Esenyurt area following the incident. She was arrested there. During interrogation, Sevil stated that the night before, she and Elif had consumed alcohol and in the morning, a fight broke out between them. She claimed Elif hit her and they struggled, and after they both fell to the ground, she saw that Elif was no longer moving and ran away out of fear. She also stated that due to intoxication, she couldn’t remember the details of the incident.

Neighbor’s comment

“They were two girls who were friends. They had a fight, one killed the other, then cut her own wrist and ran away. Her mother came, entered the house, and saw her daughter lying in blood. We used to see her in the neighborhood, we used to greet each other. She was a good person.”

The moment Sevil Akdağ left the apartment was recorded by security cameras. In the footage, a woman in dark clothing is seen quickly leaving the scene.
