Nihal Candan, a former participant in TV shows such as “This Is My Style” and “This Is Me,” passed away last week due to illness. During her time in prison, she struggled with severe health issues and a condition known as “anorexia nervosa”. Eventually, on June 21st, she passed away, with her weight having dropped to only 23 kilograms.

Nihal’s Mother Speaks for the First Time

Umut Candan, Nihal’s grieving mother, spoke publicly for the first time after her daughter’s death. She stated that Nihal no longer wanted to live, saying: “My daughter basically committed suicide. She didn’t want to get better.”

If Bahar marries a kind and conscientious person and has a child, I believe Nihal will be reborn.

This emotional statement by Nihal’s mother sparked widespread reactions on social media. She added: “I want Bahar to marry someone honorable and of good character as soon as possible. If she has a child, I’m certain Nihal’s soul will return through that child. Bahar agrees with this idea, and I want to find a suitor for her quickly, in the traditional way.”

Nihal Candan’s mother also spoke about the negative role of social media in her daughters’ lives, saying: “My daughters were not successful in using social media. They didn’t show their real selves. Bahar pretended to be rich, even though she wasn’t. I took out loans for Nihal, I sold land. I’m glad I did everything I could. I only wish I had been able to support her spiritually as well.”
