Jail Term Sought for Danla Bilic’s Ex-Boyfriend Over Assault Allegation
Istanbul prosecutors are seeking a prison sentence of 9 months to 1.5 years for Berk Çetin, the ex-boyfriend of famous influencer Danla Bilic (real name: Neslihan Damla Aktepe), over allegations of assaulting her in a café. CCTV footage captured the moment he punched her head and chin.
Case Details
According to the indictment, Aktepe told police that Çetin had assaulted her before, with another case ongoing. She stated that on the day of the incident, while sitting in a café, Çetin approached her, and as she stood up from the table, he punched her head and chin. Staff intervened after she screamed, and she filed a complaint.
Defendant’s Statement and Evidence
Berk Çetin claimed in his statement that he only “pushed” Aktepe in a moment of anger and did not punch her, but CCTV footage showed him hitting her head and face. A forensic report confirmed that the injuries were minor and treatable with simple medical care.
No Settlement and Legal Proceedings
Prosecutors stated that the case fell under crimes eligible for settlement, but attempts at reconciliation failed. The indictment seeks 9 months to 1.5 years in prison for “simple injury against a woman.” The trial will soon begin at the Istanbul Criminal Court.
