İrem Derici Escapes Death; Receives 10 Stitches to the Head
Following a period of intense concert scheduling and related health issues, İrem Derici has suffered a misfortunate accident. She fell on the apartment staircase, hit her head, and was taken to the hospital, where she received 10 stitches. Based on the medical report, she canceled her concerts in Çeşme and Cyprus.
Recently in the spotlight for her private life—reportedly finding happiness with Melih Kunukçu and preparing for marriage—Derici had spent the summer in a busy concert marathon. However, bad news arrived from the singer.
In recent weeks, she had been treated in hospital for a throat and ear infection, sharing a video while on IV to inform fans. At the time, she was admitted with a 38.9°C fever and said:
“They’ve started the antibiotic now, and then they’ll give vitamins. Whoever cast the evil eye—may it return to them…”
Head Impact and Brief Fainting
This time, Derici announced the cancellation of two concerts due to the accident. She stated on social media that as she exited the apartment, her foot slipped on the entrance stairs, causing her to fall and hit her head, followed by a brief loss of consciousness. She was taken to Acıbadem Fulya Hospital, received 10 stitches, and developed bruising on her face. In line with the medical report, she paused her performances.
“Yesterday, as I was leaving the apartment, my foot slipped on the stairs at the entrance and I hit my head. After a short blackout, I was taken to Acıbadem Fulya Hospital, and 10 stitches were placed on my head. Due to the fall, I also have bruises on my face.
Therefore, with great sadness and apologies, I would like to announce that I will not be able to perform my August 29 concert in Çeşme Şerefe and August 30 concert in Cyprus Kaya Palazzo Girne, in line with the report I received from Acıbadem Fulya Hospital.”
