Güllü’s Daughter Files Criminal Complaint Against Eight People for Privacy Violation and Circulating Allegations
As the investigation into the death of singer Güllü (Gül Tut), who fell from the window of her sixth-floor apartment in Yalova, continues, the allegations that spread publicly after the incident have triggered a new legal step. The lawyer of her daughter Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter and family friend Sultan Nur Ulu has filed a criminal complaint against eight individuals on the grounds of violating privacy and sharing content targeting the clients.
While the investigation regarding the death of Güllü (Gül Tut), who died after falling from her sixth-floor residence in Yalova, is still underway, the lawyer representing her daughter Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter and her friend Sultan Nur Ulu appeared at the Yalova Courthouse to address various allegations circulating after the incident.
Allegations of Privacy Violation
In a written statement, attorney Merve Uçanok announced that they have filed complaints against B.D., R.G., Ç.K., Ferdi Aydın, and also against attorneys Gülşah M., Gizem A., Özge Ö., as well as Kervan E. (Gülter’s boyfriend). The accusations include recording audio without consent, violating privacy, and making false claims.
“We Will Fight Until the End”
Uçanok, who also represents İ.Ö. within the scope of the investigation, stated that her client has been subjected to systematic attacks on social media. Her official statement reads:
“Some individuals who claim to advocate against violence toward women are, in uncontrolled social media broadcasts, disclosing the personal data of my client İ.Ö. and making statements targeting her private life. The main reason for these attacks is my client’s professional opinions expressed as part of her journalistic duties. This situation places both her and her family in great difficulty and causes serious harm.”
Uçanok further emphasized that not only İ.Ö. but also other women and journalists who express differing views have been targeted in similar ways. She added:
“We will fight to the very end against this mindset that manipulates society and targets women.”
She also stated that the investigation continues under several different criminal categories and that additional complaints will soon be filed against other individuals and institutions involved in similar actions.
