The passing of Fatih Ürek, one of Turkey’s well-known music and television figures, has caused deep sorrow among his fans. The 59-year-old artist, who had been receiving medical treatment since last October after suffering a severe heart attack, passed away on the evening of January 30, 2026.
Fatih Ürek was rushed to the hospital in October after suddenly experiencing intense chest pain at his home. Medical examinations revealed that he had suffered a major heart attack and was diagnosed with serious arterial blockages.

Following emergency surgery, the artist was transferred to the intensive care unit, where he remained on life-support systems for several months. During this time, his loved ones and fans awaited hopeful news, offering continuous prayers for his recovery.

Who was Fatih Ürek?
Fatih Ürek was born on April 3, 1966, in Erzurum. He was a Turkish fantasy and pop music artist, as well as an actor, television host, and theater performer. Beginning his professional career in 1993, he earned a lasting place in the hearts of the Turkish public.
At the age of one, he moved with his family to Bursa, where he continued his education. At 15, he joined the Bursa State Theatre and worked in theater until the age of 20 before choosing not to pursue formal theatrical studies further.
After deciding to become a vocal artist, Fatih Ürek moved to Istanbul. He released his first album in 1993 and later explored both pop music and Classical Turkish Music. In 1997, he gained additional recognition by portraying Fred Flintstone in the “Reyting Hamdi” program.
Throughout his 31-year music career, he also appeared in numerous television series and films, including “Ruhsar,” “Neredesin Firuze,” “Şeytanın Pabucu,” “Jet Sosyete,” and “Menajerimi Ara.” He later became widely known as the host of “Gelinim Mutfakta” between 2018 and 2020 and served as a jury member on “Kuaförüm Sensin.”
