First Words from the Imam Father of Influencer Kubra Karaaslan After Her Suicide
The imam father of social media influencer Kubra Karaaslan (Kübra Karaaslan), who took her own life by jumping from the Osmangazi Bridge, has spoken for the first time following his daughter's death. Osman Sevket Karaarslan (Osman Şevket Karaarslan) reportedly told those around him that he had made significant efforts to guide his daughter regarding her social media presence.
"I told her many times that opening live broadcasts on TikTok and dancing in front of men was wrong; I worked hard to correct her behavior. But she did not listen to my words. It was fate,"
he stated.
Kubra Karaaslan, 21, who had recently closed all of her social media accounts, climbed over the railings of the Osmangazi Bridge in the Yalova Altinova (Yalova Altınova) section on Monday and jumped.
She Passed Away in the Hospital
Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene after witnesses reported seeing Karaaslan fall into a shipyard area. She was transported to Yalova Altinova State Hospital, where she lost her life. Following autopsy procedures, her body was brought to Istanbul. After a funeral prayer in Umraniye (Ümraniye), she was buried in the Basaksehir Kayabasi (Başakşehir Kayabaşı) Cemetery.
Captured on Mobile Phone Cameras
The moments when Kubra Karaaslan jumped from the bridge were captured on mobile phone cameras by citizens. In the footage shared on social media, it was observed that Karaaslan suddenly released herself while bystanders were attempting to persuade her not to jump.
It was revealed that the young influencer was the daughter of Osman Sevket Karaarslan, the Imam-Hatib of the Hz. Yusuf Mosque in Umraniye.
