Seven out of seven for Galatasaray
Galatasaray extended their perfect start in the Trendyol Süper Lig with a 1 0 win over Corendon Alanyaspor at Alanya Oba Stadyumu. The visitors kept top spot with another efficient away performance.
Mauro Icardi scored the only goal to seal a seventh straight league victory, giving the champions 7 wins from 7 to open the season. Goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır delivered a standout display to secure the points.
Icardi’s deft finish breaks the deadlock
Alanyaspor threatened first on 13 minutes when Maestro drove through midfield and fired narrowly wide of the right post. It was a timely warning for the visitors’ back line.
The breakthrough arrived in the 23rd minute. From a right wing attack, Singo flashed a low ball to the near post and Icardi met it with a clever backheel into the net, taking his seasonal tally to five.
Alanyaspor press but Çakır stands tall
On 61 minutes, Florent Hadergjonaj unleashed a powerful effort from distance, only for Uğurcan Çakır to hold firm. The keeper’s influence grew as the second half wore on.
Alanyaspor nearly leveled in the 74th minute when Ogundu met a pass from Ruan inside the box, but Çakır produced a superb save to keep Galatasaray in front.
Twice denied by the woodwork
In the 83rd minute, Yusuf Özdemir hammered a drive that crashed off the post and went out, the hosts’ best chance of the match. Fine margins continued to favor the visitors.
Six minutes later, Ruan’s fierce strike deflected off Çakır and onto the post again, denying Alanyaspor a late equalizer. Resolute defending and quick reflexes preserved the lead.
Çakır shines with eight saves
Uğurcan Çakır made 8 saves and was named man of the match. The tally equals his career best for most saves in a single game and underpinned Galatasaray’s clean sheet.
Table, next fixtures and a first in history
Galatasaray move to 21 points to stay top, while Corendon Alanyaspor remain on 9. The hosts missed the chance to close the gap.
Next up, Alanyaspor travel to Gençlerbirliği, and Galatasaray host arch rivals Beşiktaş. It is also the first time in club league history that Galatasaray start a season with seven straight wins.
